This morning I showed the class biodegradeble packing peanuts which are actually made from potato shavings. They are from my mums packaging for her Nutimetics sales, so that the products don't bang into each other and break druing transport.
This is what I did.
First I got a plastic container lid and filled it with cold water.. Next I put the potato shavings in the container lid and squashed them down. Students then observed the Packing Peanuts starting to foam up and disintergrate.
This type of packing material is better for the enviroment because unlike polystyrene it is biodegredeble.
